Anneli Loepp Thiessen is a PhD student at the University of Ottawa where her research focuses on women’s roles in the contemporary worship music industry. She holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance, where her repertoire focus was classical music by women. As a church musician, Anneli composes music for congregational worship, and her songs have been published in the Voices Together hymnal, GIA Publications’ online collection Unbound, and in The Mennonite. She especially enjoys crafting piano accompaniments to enliven corporate singing. She is the co-director of Anabaptist Worship Network and directs Ontario Mennonite Music Camp in the summers. Anneli is a graduate of Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg and holds her ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She completed a graduate diploma in Arts Management from Queens University and was a Yamaha Fellow at the Eastman Leadership Academy.
