ACWC initiatives fund.

The deadline for the 2024 Initiatives Fund has passed.

The ACWC Initiatives Fund supports musical work by ACWC members in various compositional/musical projects. Applicants are allowed to propose a new project OR propose one that is already in-progress such as:

• creating a new composition, including multimedia, electroacoustic, or dramatic elements, or for conventionally scored instruments/voices. The work may be that of a single composer or done in collaboration with other artists 

• doing creative networking via unique compositional means

• creating a CD and/or online recording project

• creating workshops, conferences, or venues where new compositions are encouraged, taught, created, workshopped

• travel expenses for attending a premiere, a festival where the applicant's work is being presented, or a workshop. This could be the sole reason for applying for the fund.

• other: please describe other possible projects 

Projects can have an in-person component or be digital/online. 

Any project selected for this award must be completed by the indicated date in the Application Details.  Exceptions may be granted only if requested ahead of time and agreed upon by an ACWC officer and applicant. 

Not covered by this fund.

• Concert creation per se (already funded by ACWC Concert/Project Sponsorship Fund)

• ACWC tasks already performed by Board Members

Who can apply?

• Any ACWC member, regardless of age

• An ACWC member who has NOT received either a Roberta Stephen Fund or a previous ACWC Initiatives Fund within the last 3 years,

• Has submitted their ACWC Member Profile to our Secretary, Katherine Bonness

If awarded this fund.

• A recipient needs to acknowledge ACWC’s support and use the ACWC logo for any subsequent publicities or listings about the fund.

• A recipient is required to write an article about their funded project for the ACWC Journal after it is complete. Details on this will be coordinated with our Journal Editor, Fiona Evison.
