Canadian composer Alison Yun-Fei Jiang explores the intersections of genres and cultures by drawing inspirations and influences from an array of sources such as East Asian aesthetics, Chinese opera, Canadian natural landscapes, Buddhism, film music, popular music, and literature, creating musical narratives and experiences in a lyrical, dynamic, and storytelling nature.
Alison is the RBC Affiliate Composer with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (2022-24), and was a Carrefour Composer-In-Residence with the National Arts Centre Orchestra of Canada (2020-22). She has collaborated with ensembles such as Esprit Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, JACK Quartet, the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra, Imani Winds, and Molinari Quartet. Her music has been broadcast on CBC Radio 2 and featured in the Royal Conservatory of Music 21C Festival as well as the University of Toronto New Music Festival. Awards and recognitions come from ASCAP, the SOCAN Foundation, the Graham Sommer Competition for Young Composers, the American Prize, and International Alliance for Women in Music.

La compositrice canadienne Alison Yun-Fei Jiang explore les intersections des genres et des cultures en puisant ses inspirations et ses influences dans un éventail de sources telles que l’esthétique est-asiatique, l’opéra chinois, les paysages naturels canadiens, le bouddhisme, la musique de film, la musique populaire et la littérature, créant ainsi des récits et des expériences musicales lyriques, dynamiques et narratifs.
Alison est compositrice affiliée RBC auprès de l'Orchestre symphonique de Toronto (2022-24) et a été compositrice en résidenceCarrefour auprès de l’Orchestre du Centre national des arts du Canada (2020-22). Elle a collaboré avec des ensembles tels que l’Esprit Orchestra, l’Orchestre national des jeunes du Canada, l’orchestre civique de Chicago, les quatuors JACK et Molinari, l’orchestre de chambre Kaleidoscope et les Imani Winds. Sa musique a été diffusée sur les ondes de la deuxième chaîne de radio de la CBC et a été présentée au Festival 21C du Conservatoire royal de musique du Canada ainsi qu’au festival de musique nouvelle de l’Université de Toronto.
