Whispering River Orchestra: Riversongs Cultural Fall Fair
Join the Whispering River Orchestra’s second weekend of the Riversongs Cultural Fall Fair: A 40 Year Garden: The Cultivation of the Association of Canadian Women Composers, taking place from September 18th – 20th.
The weekend starts with a coffee house on Friday, Sept. 18th, hosted by Katherine Wheatley. The weekend continues on Saturday, Sept. 19th, with a series of open-door workshops for people of all ages interested in learning new instruments, private lessons hosted by many talented musicians, a Creative Kayaking session at Foley Matheson Beach hosted by Katja Mathys, orchestral and poetry workshops, a composition circle, and a discussion circle on creative sustainability with many renowned Canadian women composers. The weekend ends on Sunday, Sept. 20th with a B.Y.O Picnic concert featuring a variety of music by Canadian women, including the world premiere of the piece Frontlines by Janet Danielson, the winner of the Riversongs ACWC 2020 Award.
