The Composer Showcase

This Composer Showcase will feature a masterclass and lecture led by ACWC member, Alice Ping Yee Ho. The masterclass at 1:30 will premiere 3 new string quartet pieces, followed by Alice's discussion on her work for multi media music projects and cross cultural operas.

Chinese-Canadian composer Alice Ping Yee Ho will present a talk on her diverse body of work, focusing on multimedia productions that incorporate live performers, video projections, and electronic soundscapes. She will also discuss her cross-cultural operas, which blend Chinese and Western elements to create a unique fusion of music and drama, drawing on traditional instrumentation and contemporary techniques to explore cultural identity and storytelling.

Admission is free and all are welcome to join November 1st at McMaster University's L.R. Wilson Concert Hall.
