ACWC/ACC Community Manager

The ACWC/ACC is looking for a new Community Manager to join our Board! This is a great opportunity for a member who wants to play an active role in connecting with our membership and helping shape the ways we communicate, share, and support each other as a community.

About the role.

The Community Manager is the membership's main point of connection within ACWC, managing the monthly SoundBox Newsletter, curating our SoundCloud and YouTube playlists, coordinating the Featured Works page, and finding new ways to engage and support members. It's a creative, people-oriented role with a real impact on how our community stays connected.

As a voting Board member, the Community Manager also contributes to the broader discussions and decisions that shape our community and support our membership.

Overall time commitment.

The time commitment varies depending on the time of year and the initiatives underway. Most months involve a regular rhythm of gathering submissions, publishing the newsletter, and updating playlists — with occasional coordination on surveys,  and announcements.

Start date.

We're looking to fill this position by May 1st, but we're happy to work with the right candidate on timing.

Who can apply?

We encourage any Active or Student member who is interested to apply. You don't need a background in finance or prior board experience — we're looking for enthusiastic members who want to contribute in a supportive environment.

As a Board and an organization, we place a huge value on building diverse leadership and elevating more voices. If you're someone from a diverse background (BIPOC, Francophone, LGBTQIA2S+, from underrepresented regions) or know someone who might be encouraged to take on this role, please share this with them.

About the role.

The Treasurer works closely with the Chair and Board to lead budget planning, manage payments and member finances, and keep the organization on track to meet its goals. With day-to-day bookkeeping and government filings supported by our Assistant Treasurer, this role is focused on oversight, decision-making, and collaboration — making it a manageable and rewarding board position.

As a voting Board member, the Treasurer also contributes to the broader discussions and decisions that shape our community and support our membership.

Overall time commitment.
