ACWC/ACC Journal Editor

The ACWC/ACC is looking for a new Journal Editor to join our Board! This is an exciting opportunity for a member who loves words and storytelling to help shape how our community shares its knowledge, research, and achievements.

About the role.

The Journal Editor leads the ACWC Journal, our bi-annual publication that highlights and celebrates the work of our members and guest contributors locally, provincially, nationally, and internationally. From reaching out to potential writers and developing article ideas to editing, formatting, and publishing each issue, it’s a creative, detail-loving role with a real impact: the Journal is a lasting record of our community’s contributions to music composition.

As a voting Board member, the Journal Editor also contributes to the broader discussions and decisions that shape our community and support our membership.

Overall time commitment.

We're open to adjusting the Journal's publishing dates if needed. It's currently published twice a year, in June and December, with the time commitment heaviest in the two months before each issue and a lighter, ongoing rhythm the rest of the year. A rough estimate is around 10 hours per month during the busier stretches.

Start date.

Start Date: We're looking to fill this position by September 1st, but we're happy to work with the right candidate on timing.
